No backup yet? Make one in five minutes.
Three steps, about five minutes
- 01
Back up your iPhone
Plug it in and choose “Back up all data to this PC” in the free Apple Devices app. Leave encryption off.
- 02
Open the backup folder
Click the button above and pick the Backup folder. Tip: paste %USERPROFILE%\Apple\MobileSync\Backup into the folder window's address bar.
- 03
Read, search, export
Every conversation, newest first. Search any word across all of them and jump straight to the message.
Your texts never leave your computer
Most message viewers are apps you install, or services you upload to. This one is a web page that reads your backup with your own browser. There is no account, no server holding your data, and nothing to delete afterwards.
The page that opens your backup loads no analytics, and its security policy tells your browser to refuse any connection to another server. Even a bug couldn't send your texts anywhere.
Check it yourself
- 1. Open the backup page.
- 2. Turn off Wi-Fi or unplug the network cable.
- 3. Open your backup. Everything still works, because nothing needs the internet.

Coming next
The Phone Link that actually works.
A small Windows helper that shows new texts the moment they arrive and lets you reply from your keyboard, over the same Bluetooth link Phone Link uses. With your full history in the same window. Join the list and we'll email you once when it's ready.
Questions
Are my messages uploaded anywhere?+
No. The page reads your backup folder inside your browser and nothing is sent to a server. You can check: open the page, switch off Wi-Fi, then open your backup. It still works.
What do I need?+
A Windows PC with Chrome or Edge, and an unencrypted iPhone backup made with the Apple Devices app or iTunes. The backup guide walks through it in about five minutes plus backup time.
Why are some photos missing?+
If Messages in iCloud is on, iOS keeps most attachments out of computer backups. Text is always included. To get photos too, turn off Messages in iCloud on the phone (choose the option that downloads your messages), then back up again.
Can I use it for court or a legal dispute?+
Yes. Export a conversation as an exhibit PDF with full dates, times, names and phone numbers on every message. Whether it is admissible is up to your court and your lawyer; this is not legal advice.
Does it work with encrypted backups?+
Not yet. Turn off “Encrypt local backup” in the Apple Devices app and back up again. Your phone keeps all its data either way.
Is it really free?+
Yes. There is no account and no install.
Your messages are already on your PC.
If you have ever backed up your iPhone to this computer, they are sitting in a folder. Open it.
